Fall Finds Spoonie Essentials Box Breakdown

Fall in love with a few Spoonie Essentials Box Fall Finds Box! This box is all about preparing for the changing weather and adapting new healthier care habits. I've collected a few helpful things to make the 'Chronic-illness Life' this Fall a little more Fun!

In no way is this "everything" you'll need this Fall but definitely a few things to try out or to have handy if you're familiar with them. When creating each box I have 5 criteria in which every box must meet to create my special dose of "chronic illness care package" magic. I try to include something from each of the criteria I created. I can't tell you it entirely but I like to be sure every box includes a project of some sort, an inspirational aspect, but collectively items that promote self care and ad an element of creativity to the long term wholistic complete care for chronic illness.

Box Break Down...

Infinity scarves are an essential this fall for their cozy yet trendy versatility. Swanky's, 100% Soft Pashmina-blend scarf was especially crafted for Spoonie Essentials Subscribers.  Having a chronic-illness you typically get colder than most people but to avoid overheating warming up using layers is the easiest route to go so you can take off or ad on to whatever you're already wearing. Swanky, the Millennial girl's affordable luxury brand is launching Spring 2018. They've asked us to give them our most honest feedback on product quality, design, and usability. Click the link or send feedback directly to #SEB.

Next, every Fall Finds Spoonie Essentials Box included the #SEB Signature MugWhether enjoying a cup of Coffee, warm Tea, or some good old fashioned Hot Apple Cider, this 11 oz Ceramic dishwasher safe all white mug embossed with my signature saying "Never give up, NEVER surrender" is meant to inspire you with every use.

What's a Fall themed box without hand warmers? I know I live in California and it's not "really cold" but when it hits 50 degrees here and I have to be outside, I layer up and keep these in Little Hottie Handwarmers my pockets. They are great if you plan on participating in or watching outdoor activities like football or fall festivals.

Angela from the Daily Mail says "the prospect of an Arctic blast hitting the country next week, it’s likely that some of us will be feeling the cold in our hands and feet. But in my case, my fingers will feel more than just a little chilly. I’m not alone in suffering this way. It’s estimated that ten million people have Raynaud’s, a disproportionate reaction of the circulatory system to even the slightest drop in temperature".  Chronic-illness Patient Warriors like Angela and I are predisposed to being cold all the time, so using hand warmers to warm more than your hands during colder weather is a definite Spoonie Life Hack. Just by putting them in your shoes and  or inner pockets helps to keep you warmer all over., especially your feet. When your feet are warmer, you usually are warmer overall.

Not only do you have to keep your hands warm this fall, you've also got to keep them along with all of your skin, moisturized and well hydrated. Try adding a bottle a day to your liquid consumption during Falls windier colder weather. According to livestrong.com, "the main benefit of using hand lotion is its moisturizing properties. Using hand lotion helps prevent chapping, cracking and chafing skin. The oil ducts on palms and fingers are tiny compared to elsewhere on the body, so hands get chapped and dry out much more easily than other areas".I included the Bath & Body Works "Queen Bee" Honey Butter  to ensure that everyone had nice soft skin, especially those of us whose illnesses have skin symptoms.

I know for most of us we doubt the ability of any vitamin to boost our immune system, it may not cure you but it may keep Fall germs and colds from getting you down and just an overall "healthy goodness" boost. Honest's latest all natural supplement, Immunity Plus, intended for daily use to boost the immune system is another chronic-illness companion this Fall to get a jump start combating the common cold and other Fall Flu germs.

You've got a supplement to combat germs internally but what about on the surface? Obviously I had to include hand sanitizer since your hands are warm and moisturized, keeping them clean is the best first defense against the spreading of germs. Not all hand sanitizers are created equally though, a lot of the unnatural hand sanitizers have phthalates and other harmful chemicals in them, which most of the time, is camouflage with tricky labeling and just says “fragrance.” Phthalates are endocrine disruptors and are not good for the body, all-natural hand sanitizers are just as effective without the harmful chemicals in them. So the Fall Finds box included the GoodCommonSense Tea Thyme Hand SanitizerThis Thyme and Tea Tree oil vegan hand sanitizer is a definite Fall Spoonie Essential. Stay sanitized everywhere you go with its sleek pen-like style and don't worry about your hands drying out, this one is alcohol free.

Is it me or does Fall scream "Hot Caramel Apple Cider" or was that a Starbucks ad? lol I love Starbucks Hot Caramel Apple Cider but when I found out how to make it at home I almost died. While I was thrilled it became quickly evident it would take way too much energy to make it from scratch for all of us Spoonies. I really wanted to share the "hot apple cider experience" with you, so I found an "instant" cider in Alpine Hot Apple Cider, to save you spoons and energy but give you that same warm delicious taste in the comfort of your own home. The caramel drizzle is what makes it everything for me, if you're into that sort of thing too, put a cube of caramel at the bottom with the package contents before you pour in hot water. You'll thank me later!

In rounding out each box every month I try to always include a practical yet fun "Do It Yourself" project. So every Fall Finds Box included a Hobby Lobby wooden frame and a wooden inspirational word to create a personal master piece. Painting and other artsy craft things are a great way to take your mind off of your current travails or just to have a little me time.

Lastly, but certainly not least the Cozy Cupcake fuzzy socks fundraiser. This year on my birthday I will host a week long behind the scenes look at my life, building the box, and celebrating my birthday with you beginning Monday October 9 and ending on my birthday October 15, 2017!
